  Small, narrow glaucous leaves arxi thin black purple cu~lrns, useful as a specimen

  nitida 'Nymplienburq'.  
  A form of the species with smaller leaves and flexible cufms that arch at the top  
  to a dull grey green. Part shade/sun. 2m
  nitida 'Fisenach'  
  Culms upright. black tinted and prominent nodes. 2m
  murieliae. The Umbrella Bamboo.  
  Dense arching clumps ot yellow-green arching cutms Good in pots or happy in 3m
  most aspects.  
* HIBANOBAMBUSA    
  tranquillans. Very glossy large leaves and tall culms which provide an arching habit Sun/shade. 1-2m
  tranquiltans 'Shiroshima' Broad leaves striped in creamy yellow, very attractive. Makes an ideal specimen or feature. Sun/shade. 1-2.5m
     
     
INDOCALMUS    
  solidus. Large dark green leaves on thin cuims. Likes part shade where it will stay lush. Good in containers. 1.5m
     
PHYLLOSTACHYS    
  aurea. A very tough bright bamboo producing thick bright green culms. Sun, 3-4m
  aureosuicata 'Aureocalis'. The Golden Crookstem Bamboo. Shoots appear pale lernon in colour which mature and sometimes thicken to a zig-zag shape turning into a rich gold. Sun/light shade. 3-4m
  aureosulcata 'Spectablis'. A colourful robust bamboo with golden culms, green-grooved, even red on young growth. Very glossy toliage. Hardy and reliable. Open position. 3-4m
  bambusoides 'Lacrima-rteae'. Very thick glossy culms with black markings on a green stem. Fine as a specimen or screening. Sun/shade. 3-4m
  bissetis. Tall thick upright cuims from dark green to olive and also very leafy. Very hardy and usetul for screening. Sun/shade. 3-4m
  nigra. The Black Stemmed Bamboo. Slow growing dense clump of bamboo with stunning black culms. Very decorative. Sun and sheltered site. 3-4m
  nigra Boryana'. Tall bamboo. Best used as a specimen. The culms are blotched with shades of brown eventually forming a thick glade. To be admired from all aspects. Sun/sheltered site. 3-4m
  propinqua. Medium sized leaves are made to look longer with a curl at the ends. Thick canes and foliage held high. Easy. Very hardy and thrives in sun/part shade. 3-4m
  viridiglaucescens. Very leafy and graceful bamboo. The leaves have a glaucous underside and a blueish ring on the culm. Would provide a dense screen in time. 3m
  vivax 'Aureocaulis'. Stunning gold culms randomly striped with vivid green. Tidy upright, compact habit. Very hardy Superb specimen. Sun/part shade.  
     
PLEIOBLASTUS    
  auricomus. A golden variegated bamboo with green and yellow stripes. Pruning at the end of wirrier produces bright new toliage. Sun/pan shade. 80-90cm
  chino eleqantissimus. Very slender cutma with fine long thin foliage striped green/white. A very graceful srnall bamboo. Good in container. Part shade. 1.5m
  linearis. Beautiful willow like leaves on tall arching culms. Can he used for screening or a focal point. Very exotic, hardy and tolerant of most sites. 2.5 - 3m
  shibuyanis 'Tsuboi'. A very bright variegated form with creamy white striped leaves. The foliage is very dense and forms a good size clump. Sun/pan shade. 1 - 1.5m
  simonii. A leafy screen on thick upright canes. Sword shaped leaves are held eleganity, very exotic. Sun/pan shade. 3.5m
     
PSEUDOSASA    
  japonica 'The Arrow Bamboo'. Very broad long glossy leaves held high, makng the tips ot the culms arch. Very hardy and useful for screening. Sun/shade. 3 - 3.5m
  japonica "Tstilsumiana'. Shorter than the species with mature canes producing swellings above the nodes. Slow spreading. Sun-pan shade. 2.5 - 3m
     
SASA    
  palmata. A medium size spreader with enormous green leaves. The winter leaf edge bleaching is quite stunning. Most aspects. Can run. 1.5 - 2m
  tsuboiana. Large overhanging leaves on short thin culms make a complete canopy, will tolerate even dry shade. Does like a sheltered site. 1m
     
SASAELLA    
  niasamuneana atbostriata. A small growing bamboo with slender canes and large creamy white striped leaves. Sun and open aspect. 1m
     
SEMIARUNDINARIA    
  tastriosa. Handsome and stately bamboo makes a tall upright specimen in the sun or shade. Very hardy and useful. 3.5 -4m
